One of the best things about working at Randall Branding is building relationships with great people. We love it when our clients share their world with us. And in the interest of returning the favor, we’ll be sharing parts of our weird and wonderful world with you here.

Six things you may not know about David, our Graphic Designer/Front End Developer.

1. I’ve been doing improv comedy since middle school and have performed at a number of festivals around the country. In 2009, I co-founded the Richmond Comedy Coalition and in 2013 I was selected as one of Richmond’s “Top 40 Under 40” after the opening of our own permanent space, the Coalition Theater.

2. If you think you see my face on TV from time to time, you’re not crazy (or maybe you are…who knows), but every once in awhile I book a TV commercial. My first gig had me as a meat patty running from humans for the Virginia Lottery.

3.  I was super into comic books as a kid. My crates of comics, binders of cards, and bins of action figures are stashed at my parents house, though I can’t take all the credit for my collection. Most of it was actually passed down to me from my older cousin.

4. I love traveling and finding the best local places to eat. If you go to a new city and settle for lunch at Panera because its quick and easy, we would not get along.

5. My favorite summer thus far was the one after my junior year of high school. I attended the theater program at the Governor’s School for Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Richmond. The summer before that I got an all-you can watch Blockbuster rental membership. One summer, 72 movies. Not too shabby.

6. I’ve never been stung by a bee and I intend to keep it that way.

1. When time allows, I like to read history books. Some of my favorite authors are Jared Diamond, Erik Larson and Tom Standage.

2. A first time dog owner, I adopted my best friend Riggins from the Richmond SPCA about 9 years ago. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

3. I played a lot of sports growing up, mainly soccer, tennis and volleyball. I’m also a big sports fan. My favorite teams are the Washington Redskins, Arsenal FC and VCU Rams basketball.

4. I used to play in bands. Some of the best times of my life were playing live. The biggest venue I ever played at was the Black Cat in Washington, D.C.

5. By the summer of my senior year of high school, I worked my way up from a cashier to a produce manager at a Mom & Pop grocery store. It was great learning experience, and I also hoarded all the best Hanover tomatoes for myself.

6. My cousin, a School of Design Professor at Syracuse University, inspired me to be a designer when I was young.

Six things you may not know about Jade, our Copywriter and SEO/SEM Manager.

1. When I was a child I used to sing opera every time I was in the bathroom, and do Johnny Bravo impressions. There is plenty of video evidence of this that should stay in my parents basement for all of eternity.

2. One of my favorite things to do is connect friends with friends. I’ve always enjoyed bringing people together that wouldn’t normally have met. For example, my best friend in middle school and my best friend in high school ended up rooming together in college after I linked them.

3. I’m really appreciative of fine textiles. I like to sift through thrift store racks really quickly and just feel the clothes based off of their fabric. If something feels like high quality, I’ll give it a look. I love raw cottons and rayon in the summer. I think that you can tell the quality of a piece by how it drapes on a person. Does this sound creepy yet?

4. Both of my parents are artists, my dad is a photographer and illustrator and my mom is a music composer. My way of rebelling against them when I was a teen was telling them I was going to go to business school and study finance.

5. I was named after the daughter of Mick & Bianca Jagger, but she’s way cooler than me.

6. I could live solely off of cheese. I tried to go vegan once but it only lasted for 6 hours—I was having cheese withdrawals. Two of my favorites are Manchego (Spanish) and Drunken Goat. Mmmmmmm.
